Module objectives/intended learning By the end of this course students should be able to:

  1. Understand the Islamic review of halal
  2. Understand the implementation of halal product regulations
  3. Understand the halal certification process
  4. Explain the halal authentication method
  5. Evaluating halal authentication methods
Content The course will cover: 

The concept of fiqh and the law of halal, regulation and certification of halal products, critical points of ingredients, halal authentication methods, analysis of alcohol, meat and lard, pork gelatin, chemometric methods.
